Last weekend all the high school kids in our community went up to Brianna Schoon’s house in the country for the weekend. In all there was about twenty kids who came up. We all had so much fun, the first night everybody slept on the roof of the house, it was freezing but we had many blankets and sleeping bags to snuggle in! The next day we hung out at the ropes course, almost everyone actually did the course and some climbed the rock-climbing wall! I had so much fun playing cards with friends, singing praise songs, and enjoying God’s beautiful creation.

One of the main reasons for taking everybody up there was to say goodbye to the people who were going  back to the US this summer.  There are four kids in our community who are leaving China this year including two going back for collage.  The rest of us prepared signed baseball hats and journals for them,  the night we gave the gifts away we all sat around a fire and roasted  jet puff marshmallows (which was a treat because its pretty expensive to buy that kind in China).  It was really sad for me when I realized how close it was until they have to leave, but I will be praying for them for strength and courage as they go.
