We left the Grand Canyon in the early morning to head west. Sean had planned
for us to visit Zion National Park in southern Utah. The drive was spectacular.
Upon entering the park we were told that we would need and escort through the
tunnel of the canyon because of our size. These canyons reminded me a a 1000
foot “Jaba the Hut” from Star Wars. There were uniform ridges angling downward.
The tunnel we drove through was at least a mile long. Periodically there were
large openings to see out. I couldn’t believe we were driving through the
mountain…scary!! Notice the black opening in the canyon in this picture.
That’s what we drove through.
This snow melt river was ice cold, but Megan didn’t mind after she got used
to it. The temps outside were in the 90’s.
